HURRICANE MATTHEW

As most already know a devastating category 4 hurricane passed over Haiti yesterday. Yet, we thank Jesus that Margaret, Rachel and I are fine. We still have not spoken with all of our pastors because cell phone communications are out.
At this point in time everyone is trying to assess the loss of life and damages. Yet, it is clear that hurricane Matthew took many lives and has left great destruction in its path.
The specifics we know as of now are these:
- 2 of our school lost their roofs.
- 2 or our churches lost parts of their roofs.
- Many homes destroyed completely.
- Great crop damage and loss of live stock.
- On our property in Jacmel, the ocean rose and came over the front wall, about 6 ft. up. It washed our 180 foot wooden fence out to sea.

We expect to have more reports in the days to come as electricity and phone services are restored.
First and foremost:
Pray for our Haitian brothers.
Pray that we would hear from Pastor Nelson, in Demier, soon.
Pray that we would have God’s wisdom in how to best help those in need at this time.
Pray that His name would be glorified in the midst of tragedy.
Secondly, we ask you to help us respond the many needs as result of hurricane Matthew. At this time we estimate that we will need hundreds of thousands of dollars. Therefore, please consider stepping in and helping. The best way at this time is through monetary gifts.
We appreciate each of you who have stood with us through the years. We believe that God has placed us in Haiti for His purpose in times like these.
